Passwords are the weakest link in online security. Passkeys — the passwordless standard backed by Google, Apple, and Microsoft — aim to replace them entirely.
How passkeys work
A passkey is a cryptographic key pair stored on your device. When you log in, your device proves your identity using biometrics — no password typed, nothing for phishers to steal.
Should you switch?
Yes, wherever it’s offered. Passkeys are phishing-resistant, can’t be reused across sites, and are faster than typing a password. Keep a backup login method until you’re fully migrated.
